The Walk

The walk with God is not for the faint-hearted. It's sometimes a challenging walk, but so worth it in ways beyond our scope of imagination. Faith is a large part of it, which can be a struggle for the people who want to understand everything.  None of us will ever fully understand God's ways, but we must know His ways are better than our ways. It's ok to not understand why God allows certain things and certain events. We will be just fine. It's just a fact of life that we will never be able to know all about life and we have to be alright with that. We have to also be alright with walking by the faith and trust we have in Christ and not by what we see ( 2 Corinthians 5 :7 ). That's crucial to our walk with God. And when we get to the point of our faith doing the walking for us, then things will start happening that we can't [naturally] explain. That's because God is at work on our behalf.  Life is so much easier when we walk like that. Not perfe

How Will I Make It?

When it comes to the pressures, struggles, and challenges of life, understandably a good question could simply be, "how will I make it?" That question doesn't surprise God, because none of us can make it without Him. At least none of can do amazing and wonderful feats without Him on the scene and part of the picture. I'm sure you've heard it said before that if God is not in it, it's not big enough. So, when we're doing things so big that we have no idea if what we're doing will really work and how we will get the resources to make them work, we have to pray and continue to pray that God will move on our behalf. We have to move along from faith to faith to faith. If we don't do that, then a sense of overwhelm comes over us and we can easily give up because the task seems so huge.  There are many things we were born to do and they must get done. Although they won't come easy, they will come. You know why? Because before the Lord forme

The Turtoise

I think most of us have heard the story of the tortoise and the hare, right? If not, you can access the childhood fable here . In a nutshell, it's the story of two animals who raced each other. One was cocky and one was humble. The hare was the arrogant one who they both knew was faster than the tortoise. There was no denying that. The hare continued to brag and boast about how much faster he was over the tortoise and when the tortoise could take it no more, he agreed to challenge the hare. The race was on. The tortoise started out like any tortoise would, slow as a...well...a tortoise. And the hare decided that he would mess around and waste some time doing this and that. He knew there was no competition before him. Every now and then he would watch the tortoise from a distance and like any egotistical, he was convinced that since he was smarter and more talented, he would out-perform anyone anytime he wished. He wasn't worried, he had this . After the hare finally made the

Weird People

You ever been called weird? Strange? Out there? Different? All because you live for God? If so, good for you. It means you're also extraordinary, awesome, usable, and set-aside to do great things for Him and thus, people.  One of my favorite movies is  The Matrix for several reasons. One being that Neo, the main character, was one of those people who didn't fit in. And that was the very reason he was the chosen one; the one to survive going into the Matrix to wake people up. There were no other Neo's, because nobody else believed in themselves as much as he did. Sure, it was a process to get to that point, it didn't come over night or without any sacrifices. Nevertheless, he was able to do unbelievable feats to save people, because he believed in a force bigger than himself. And that force was his power. He was the hero. So, just in case you may be feeling left out or like nobody gets you, please don't let that stop you from believing that God ha

No Regrets

Sometimes it's easy to live in regret, isn't it? Or is that a no for you? Some people can move on rather quickly when they make a mistake or if they made a bad decision. I always struggled in that area though. The only reason I can move on much quicker than I used to is because I force myself to and the grace of God is patient and kind with me. I thank God for Him, because from time to time I can think on things too much if I'm not careful. I have always been a thinker and that hasn't always served me well. Yet, the good news is that my faith carries me through. Faith is so powerful, I'm telling you and if it were not for my faith, I shudder to think where I would be right now. "Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them ( Mark 11 :22/23). Have faith and let your fa

Waves of Goodness

One of the many awesome things of God is that He gives us waves of His goodness.  He's not a respector of persons, which means He will use anyone He chooses to do His will. Just when it seems we're down to nothing, God is always up to something. He is always with us during the highs and lows of life. That's why we can never give up. It doesn't matter our past or present circumstances, God is in control. I know an R&B singer who is famous. And although she grew up in the church, she and her mother wanted her to go the R&B route (no judgement there). They grinded and hit that pavement for years and nothing was happening for her. After much discouragement and rejection she was just about to give up on her dream of getting a record deal. They had done just about all they could and things weren't working out for her. Then finally a record deal came through. They were ecstatic, but only for a moment. A few short weeks later the record label had changed

A Giving Spirit

Tis' the season, isn't it? It's the time when we see more obvious giving than normal and although that's a good thing, it would be great to see it more often. In my  blog post  (November 17, 2016) I talked about Dave Ramsey's book, The Total Money Makeover.  In that book Dave talked about what he calls Baby Steps , which are 7 steps to becoming financially/debt free. Step 7 is the point where wealth is achieved and giving/helping people is more abundant. That is the point that excites me the most, because wouldn't it be great to just be able to help others who are helping themselves or to help those who are less fortunate? Wouldn't it be great to set things up that blesses people and their families? I believe those are some of the reasons God blesses us. He wants us to be a blessing for others. That's what God told Abram when he told him to leave his family and go to an unknown land. God was blessing Abram to be a blessing to others and Ab

A Praying Woman

There are so many things I loved about the life of Harriet Tubman.  I love reading about her life, her strength, her courage, and her love and faithfulness to God. From the many articles and books I've read about her, she was a prophet sent by God to free His people. Henceforth, her nickname was Moses. She was also illiterate, which means she couldn't read or write. And like most people used mightily by God, she had a rough go at it before she started her ministry of setting the captives free in the name of Jesus, the Most High. Yet among her many amazing feats of freeing about 300 slaves, she was in constant communication with God. And the one thing that is clear is that she prayed -- she spoke to Him often and He spoke back to her with clear directions about how she was to go about freeing slaves, in which she never lost one or was ever captured. Utterly amazing. But that's our awesome God. I say all of that to say that if she wasn't a praying woman who had

When Fear Makes Perfect Sense

16  "Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil" ( Proverbs 15 :16). "The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor" (Proverbs 15:33). When fear, healthy fear, respectful fear, no-need-to-fear fear, makes perfect sense. And I can stop right there really but I won't. Just know that there's nothing wrong with wealth, yet knowing God controls that wealth is what leads to a healthier relationship with Him in our lives. And seeking His wisdom and humility is just as important. It's about reverencing God for who He is. It's about knowing Him as the ruler and guider of our lives. You can usually tell the ones who know who He is, because their walk and talk are obvious. They operate in a faith, praise, and worship for Him continuously. You may not be aware of all of that, but you'll know it by the fruit they produce, the resolute attitude they have during struggles, and the peace the

It Can Still Happen

Do you know miracles and extraordinary things happen? That shouldn't surprise you though. It doesn't surprise me, because I know God is the God of the possible (Matthew 19:26). That means if we want something that has lived in our heart, it doesn't matter how long it's lived there, it can still happen for us. But only some people believe that. Part of the reason I think certain things don't happen for some people is because they give up on their dreams. For instance, if a person wants to get married and after some time it hasn't happened for he or she, they will start saying they don't want to get married anymore and that they're ok being single. They say those things, because they've lost their faith. They've grown weary of the wait and they've convinced themselves it won't happen for them. They had a timeline and because God didn't operate within their deadline, they gave up. What a pity.  Don't let that happen with y

Don't Give Your Power Away

In the spiritual, God is in control.  That's a given.  And in the natural, He let's us control it. It's called free will. We have the freedom to determine how we act, what we put out in the atmosphere, what we accept, and what we allow. Yes we have the ability and the power to control our circumstances to the best of our ability. I'm not referring to the things that happen to us that go beyond our control. That's an entirely different subject and blog post. What I'm speaking on are the things and people we accept in our lives, the things and people we deal with, and the things and people we allow to take root in our space. And when the negative fall-out happens we blame them for every single aspect of it. Even though we allowed it. Even though we gave them the power to intervene in our lives -- to take up our valuable human real estate. We can't have it both ways. We can't be a part of the drama we let get in and when the chips fall (and t

Mountain of Joy

I chose joy. Mountainous joy.  How about you? Why walk around sorrowful, because things may not be perfect? Why not enjoy the life we have? Some people want to be other people, they want someone else's life because they think it's better than theirs. Crazy, but true. What they don't see are all the imperfections and the flaws that other people have. Remember, Jesus was and is the only perfect person. No other perfect person has ever walked the earth. So why not just cherish what we have in our own lives, appreciate who we are, and how God made us? There's so much joy in that and so much to go around that it doesn't hurt us to extend joy and to receive it. Love and rejoice in you. You're wonderfully made. You're good enough.  "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus" ( 1 Thessalonians 5 :16-17) . Don't let anyone steal your joy. Feel free to give it away. It

Ready, Set, Go

It's your time. All the suffering is coming to a close. It's time to step into a new realm of everything. Ready? Set? Let's go. No need to wait any longer, because you've put in your time. The pavements are worn out, because you worked them day and night. You put in the grunt work and now opportunities are abundant. So walk in them. I'm so excited for such a time as this. It's finally here. Big as day. And God was with you the entire time. You're the blessed one. Yes you, because of your faithful heart towards God. "You're blessed in the city and blessed in the country ( Deuteronomy 28:3) . God never forgot about you.    For daily encouragement, visit and share this blog, my  Facebook ,  Twitter ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest ,  Linkedin , & Snapchat: InSharonsHeart.

Money Makeover

I'm having alot of enlightening fun reading Dave Ramsey's The   Total Money Makeover book. I've been reading the hardcover book at home and listening to the audiobook in my car. I also listen to the podcast and youtube channel whenever I can. Dave is a Christian financial guru and business man who is anointed in the those areas. Amazingly anointed. His money philosophy has taught me so much about the mistakes I've made. One of his regular quotes goes something like this: 'we ought to live like no one else, so we can live like no one else.' That means if we sacrifice now we will enjoy the fruits of our labor later. Nothing too complicated at all, right?  Yet, how many of us are willing to do that? We have to do the things in his book if we are to get to the point where we can help others -- Step 7 of  Dave's Baby Steps . Step 7 is the final step within Dave's Baby Steps framework. The Baby Steps  are designed to help people get out of debt and s

Just Keep Flying

That's what's needed to be all God birthed us to be.  Keep flying baby. Don't stop. It doesn't matter what is in front if you. No matter the obstacles and no matter the roadblocks. You must keep going. You mustn't grow tired and give up, simply because you don't see what you know God promised you. You must stay in the race. It doesn't matter if you're accepted or not. Keep soaring. It's all a must even if people are laughing at you. Even if you feel alone. Even if people don't get you. Even if people are mad at you for no reason. Stay with it and keep flying, because with God you can do anything and get through anything ( Luke 1 :37 ).    For daily encouragement, visit and share this blog, my  Facebook ,  Twitter ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest ,  Linkedin , & Snapchat: InSharonsHeart.

Move On

Recently I was blessed to go to an awesome Christian business women's conference held in Nashville, TN.  I learned so much about myself and about business. Later I realized I had missed out on a session I had actually paid for. It was a coaching session with the event creator and headliner. It was one of the things about the conference I was most excited about. The coaching session was capped at 30 participants and I was the 30th person who had purchased a ticket. That was God and what a blessing.  Yet, I was so disappointed when I realized I had missed it. The reason I missed it was because I was a little confused about where to go and things just didn't line up for me. Yes I know I know, I shouldn't have missed it right? I mean I was right there. Yet it's just a reminder that we all mess up and we just don't think sometimes. That was one of those times, but guess what? I refuse to beat myself up over it. I chalk it up to a lesson learned. I refuse

Stay Positive

I've had great conversations lately and  I've been reading alot of things too.  I must admit I love more of the positive than the negative. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not saying I rather the opinions that think like I do or agree with what I have to say. I realize it's ok to disagree with people, yet it's great to admire their voice when it comes from a positive place than from a gloomy negative place. The positive makes listening to their perspective more interesting. I like talking to cheerful people and engaging in dialogue that makes me think. It doesn't matter whether I'm in agreement or disagreement with them. I just rather the things that err on the side of the positive. Usually I've noticed that such people come from a place of light ( John 1:1-18 ) . That's needed, especially today. "A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit" ( Proverbs 15 :13).  A positive attitude is never overrat

Broken and Beautiful

Your time of being broken is over. The Lord sustained you and kept you until such a time as this to start being impactful for others. No more being broken, sad, and depressed. All the time of your suffering was to make you stronger. I know, because I too, suffered and I'm here to tell you God saw my suffering and He lifted me out of it.  "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit ( Psalm 34 :18).  He's done the same for you and now that you've proven your mental, emotional, and spiritual fitness it's time to let others see the miracle of how God saved you. "Blessed is the man who takes refuge in the Lord (Psalms 34:7).  Do you think it was all for nothing? It was purposeful and deliberate that He never left you or forsake you. It was a part of the great plan He has for you. It holds significance. Just as my writing helps others in some way, so will whatever it is you were born to do. You may even be a writer, as well. If s

Fearless or Faithless?

We have to decide which one we're going to be.  Fearless or faithless, but we can't be both. Either we're going to be fearless, which means operating in faith -- the trust and believe that God will bring great things to light as we put all our hope in Him. Or faithless, in which we're going to put all our trust and belief in man. We can't do both. We can't say when things go this way we're going to be fearless, but if things go that way we will be of little faith. One of In Sharon's Heart's theme scriptures when it comes to speaking faith over difficulties is Philippians 4 :13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It helps to walk around and say power-words throughout our discomfort. I know that's easier said then done, but we can do it.  In fact I had to do it just last week when I was in Nashville. I had gone to the wrong event address, because I had gotten it mixed up with the place I was supposed to

The Word of God Stands Forever

It doesn't matter how much time goes by, the word of the Lord remains the same.  It's the most powerful word in all the universe. "The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever" ( Isaiah 40 :7/8). What all that means to me is that although we will fall short and although we are far from perfect, the bible is our strength. If you don't believe then read it for about 30 minutes everyday for 30 days and see if there is a marked change in you.  Don't knock it until you try it. There's a reason it's been around for as long as anyone can remember. Our Mission

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is... well, that depends. Depends on you and God. I want to carry out my purpose and I want you to carry out yours. We have to go out of way though. And we're going to have to fight for it. It won't come easy. We have to accept the challenge. We have to put helping people front and center. So I'll state again, "your mission, should you choose to accept it, is whatever God birthed in you to do. In an article titled, Your Mission Comes From God Himself , Rick Warren says, "the mission God gave Jesus he now gives to the Body of Christ — the Church. He wants us to help get other people into his family." Thus, getting people for Jesus is our mission  Mark 16 : 15 ."  Yet we must remember that "the church" is our ministry (spiritual work), which doesn't have to be in the 4 walls of the church. Our ministry can be anywhere. My blog and books are a ministry. Thus, our ministry is our mission

Keep going

That's right. Put on those running shoes and tell the world, tell the devil, tell anybody, tell everybody, that you cannot and will not be stopped in doing everything the Lord has for you to do. The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Whenever it seems you're making one step forward, it seems you take two back. But I'm here to tell you that you cannot be stopped and you must keep going. You hear me? Listen to the words coming off this screen: there is no way God ever fails and whatever He told you, will come to pass. How do you know what He told you? What lives in your heart? What keeps burning in you to do? What is it that you want to do that will lead others to Jesus? What do you think about often? Those are some of the things that God has placed in you to do and as long as you don't grow weary and give up ( Galatians 6 :9)  simply because a wrench was thrown your way, you will see the great things God has for you. And here's another news flash: there

Judging People

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged ( Matthew 7 :1).  We do it anyway, don't we? Pass critical commentary, give our opinion when we don't know the full story, act as though we walked in another's shoes when they don't even fit. We're too much, aren't we? Yet, we think we know what's up, when we haven't a clue. We think we can render a half-cocked decision and ruling about something without being appointed the judge. Heck, we don't even sit on the jury.  Moreover, when somebody is smiling, laughing, functioning, and living through the pain, we think they have no room or no right to do so. Did we go through what they went through? No, so we shouldn't speak or act on it. Tell me, if you will, exactly how should somebody act after they've suffered from their mistakes, for public sins, or a traumatizing event? Should they curl up and wither away? Or should they live life to the fullest in order to help people live their lives

The Thoroughbred

According to encyclopedia.com, thoroughbred horses are the fastest horses among horses.  Although it has a peculiar temperament, I am just focusing on the sheer speed of it. The source above says, "it can achieve a speed of just under 40 mi (64 km) per hr for a distance of a mile (1.6 km)—the Thoroughbred has held undisputed reign as king of horse racing (except for the quarter-mile sprint)." That sounds fast to me and impressive too.  Impressive, because when an animal is that fast, great things can be accomplished. I guess that's probably why it may be a popular horse for those who like to do certain things (bet/gamble) with such data. I'm not one of them, so I'll just state my point and move on. And that means making the correlation between those fast mammals, us, and God.  This is it: If we want the Lord to move as fast as the thoroughbred moves, we're going to have to make the first move with God. Just know that fast is relative. Just

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

" I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbowappears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life" (Genesis 9:13-15).  Rainbows have a powerful meaning for us. God flooded the earth because people weren't living right and the only righteous person He could find was Noah. You know the rest of the story. Noah builds the ark and he and his family are spared, as well as 2 of every kind of animal. The rainbow is God's proof that He wouldn't flood the earth again.  So, when I look somewhere over the rainbow I'm reminded of the goodness of God. I'm reminded of His splendor. Some of you may wonder how I get splendor out of the flooding of the earth. Well that's simple. God wanted good and righteous people to dwell in
