Change and growth

D aily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know God wants to bless you? Do you know He has abundance for you? Where are you today? Are you in the same place you were last year? A few years ago? A decade ago? Or have you've grown? Hopefully, you have grown, because change happens regardless of where we are and positive growth should come with that change. The blessings are in moving with the times and being open to the new moves of the Lord. There are some people who change and never grow though, and they are in the same place they were years ago. Some are stuck in their ways and refuse to change, because they want to be right. Some are closed-minded who judge those who don't believe as they do. Yet, there's the great news: people can change and grow for the better. It's never too late. All of us can start moving, start opening up, and start accepting people for who they are. Yes, and God can help us when we seek His face.  Matthew 6:25-34

Faith matters

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. You know what another great thing I love about God is? His amazing grace gives us amazing faith, doesn't it? Just when we think we can't get through another challenging situation, the Lord will give us another round of His grace to get us over that hurdle, yet again. He will give us second winds that come often, which will be so awesome we can't help but be amazed at His awesomeness. Yes, God will enable us to do great feats and accomplish amazing things, that we have no choice but to know it was Him. Then will will walk in a godly confidence, because faith matters. Matthew 21 :18-22 says: "Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the

You are a royal gem

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you are valuable, precious, and substantial to God? That clearly means you're royalty because you are a descendant of kings  and  of  The King . And royalty gets the best God has, it doesn't get sloppy seconds or the left-overs.  Yes, when you’re a child of God, you inherit the great things He has for you. That means we are royalty simply because we are children of the Most High. Being in the kingdom of God has its advantages, doesn't it? So, we should act like we're just that special to Him. I'm not saying walk around with a proud, haughty, arrogant, prideful way about you. God despises such an attitude  (Proverbs 29:23; Isaiah 2:11/12).  What I'm saying, is we have a right to walk in a godly confidence that we are God's off-spring and we should expect to be treated like the kings and queens we are. We should be able to change the atmosphere when we walk into places -- it do

Shining like a diamond

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you can rise and shine like a diamond? That’s right, it doesn’t matter what comes at you, you can make it through. And no matter any past mistakes, God has forgiven you. God will deliver on His promises, so you can walk with your head up knowing that God’s glory is on your life, so stay faithful. Hebrews 10 :23 reminds us to   hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering; for God is faithful who promised it. I'm a witness that God will give you the strength you need when you ask for it. He wants you to shine. He wants to you have that glow of God on you. Remember in  Exodus 34: 29-35  when Moses came down from Mount Sinai? He had the glow and radiance of the Lord on him. When you have that glow, you are on a mission to do God's will. And as we seek God’s face continuously, that glow will also rest on us. We will shine like a diamond.

Soar! A model for momentum-part 2 (weekly podcast episode #25)

Weekly podcast. Follow along with blog post. This is part 2 of a book study I'm doing about TD Jake's book, Soar! Build Your Vision for Ground Up. This week's   podcast and blog post are about moving forward with our gifts and taking control for our own success.  On page 26, Jakes says, "taking responsibility for your own success must be foundational if you are to succeed as an entrepreneur." That makes sense, doesn't it? For a long time I blamed my lack of finances for not moving on with my business goals. I wasn't consistent in really anything I did to move forward. I just sat back and waited for the right time and the right person to enter my life to "help" me and that perfect time and perfect person never came. Then one day I decided I needed to bust a move, so I started my blog, then my social media, then my podcasts. That started in 2013 and although I may not be as far as I would like, I am going forward. Every time I post a bl

If you can see it, you can be it

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Have you ever heard of Habakkuk 2 : 2/3 ? It talks about seeing a vision, writing it down, working towards it, and waiting for it to come. The scripture goes like this: "Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." Your vision -- if you see it, you can truly be it. What do you see for your life? It doesn't matter how big it is, what do you envision? Do you even have a vision of what could be? What do you think about often? Are you living it? If not, are you working towards it? Remember, every little thing you do, counts as points towards your vision. As long as you're moving forward, you're going somewhere. How much faith do you have that great things can happen for you?  "And what more shall I say? For time w

Eagles fly above the storm

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with Blog Post. Are you an eagle? Do you know, eagles fly above the storm and they wait for the winds to carry them to greater heights?  That's right, as the storm is raging below, they are soaring above it all. They don't escape the storm, mind you. They simply use the storm to lift themselves to higher magnitudes. It's a though they know the storm is temporary; that they will indeed rise above it; and that they are riding the storm. I find all of that fascinating, because we can take the model of the eagle and do the same. Why can't we? We can imitate the eagles intelligence, push-through, and perseverance to weather any storm -- the storms of life that will come. If we will just know that God will never give us more than we can handle, then we will come out victorious.  As you going through anything today? Are you worried about anything in particular? Just know, you can rise above it all. Nothing is too big for G

Waves of God’s goodness

One of the many awesome things of God is that He gives us waves of His goodness.  He's not a respector of persons, which means He will use anyone He chooses to do His will, so He can get the glory from your story. Your life means something. Remember that. And be reminded that when it seems we're down to nothing, God is always up to something. He is always with us during the highs and lows of life. That's why we can never give up. It doesn't matter our past or present circumstances, God is in control. My point? God can make anything happen for anyone at anytime. It doesn't matter who and what. He knows the plans He has for each one of us. Remember the Samaritan Woman in  John 4 ? Who are we to judge how God's plan looks and how God will have us impact people? His waves of goodness can happen to anyone at anytime. They never run out.

Continue

Continue to keep going and going and going...Translation: God has much for you, so continue to roll. There are many reasons I write so much about continuing to grind and never giving up on what the Lord has for you. One reason is, some years ago someone tried to block me from leaving a position. It wasn't because I was doing anything wrong. Just the opposite, I was doing things right regarding my attitude, skills, and abilities. This has happened numerous times in my life. But don’t you know, nobody can stop or block what God has for you? So yes I'm serious when I say that what God has for you, is for you. I know that first hand in many areas of my life, I'm telling you. So, you must continue to go go go for what it is God has for you. His vision for your life should be clear. If not, seek Him out to find it.  Matthew 6 :33  says to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all the things He has for you will be added to you. Nobody can block you, so continue to

When it's your time, it's your time

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Do you know it's just a matter of time before you get what God has for you? So, continue to think big, because God has big things for you. You know why? Because when it's your time, it's your time and God wants faithful people who know the power of what He can do. God is a big God, so you have to think big. Big differs from person to person, but whatever your big is, go for it and accept nothing less. It doesn't matter what is going on around you, God will make a way when it seems there's no way, so there's no need to concern yourself with what He's going to do, because it will surely get done. God will be in the mix, because none of us can do amazing and wonderful feats without Him on the scene. I'm sure you've heard it said before that if God is not in it, it's not big enough. God will move on our behalf and He will be with us as we go from faith move to faith move.  There a

Prayers and well wishes

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.   “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul" ( 3 John  1:2).  As 3 John 1:2 conveys, I pray things go well for you, for your health, and your soul -- your living body, your will, and your emotions. I pray you will get over every hill or mountain, out of every valley you may find yourself in, every fire that seems as though it's consuming you (although it's not). I pray that all goes well for you. If you're down, I'm praying right now in Jesus name that you will look up and be up. I pray for renewed faith right now that things will be well with you. And change will be immediate. If pray that you're up, you will stay up. I pray for seasons of lasting abundance and for longer seasons of harvest. That would be just awesome, wouldn't it? At any rate, I want all to be well within your entire being. Look up towards heaven

Run to God

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "I run to you, God; I run for dear life" ( Psalm 31 :1).  Those were David's words, which I can identify. For, I do run to God. How about you? Do you run to Him too? I run to my Lord when I need Him. I run to Him when I think I got this. I run to to the Lord any and I need to. He is my comfort, my safety net, my landing place, my everything. Yes I run to Him. I need Him. What would my life be without Him? I hate to imagine. Where would I go? Who would I commune with? How would I function? Nobody else can take His place. He is my rock. My strong tower. My breath. I run to God.  "Love God, all you saints  [and others who want to draw near to Him] ; God takes care of all who stay close to him" ( Psalm 31:23). And His love never runs out.

How to encourage yourself

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. In yesterday’s blog post and podcast I talked about encouraging ourselves, but I didn’t really get into how. Would you like to know what has worked for me? The scripture reference comes from Hebrews 13 :8 , which says, God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow and He wants us to rely on Him first and foremost. When we do that —when we tap into His unlimited resources, He gives us what we need when we need it. That includes encouragement. He gives us Godly encouragement and He gives us free will to encourage ourselves. I choose to encourage myself everyday even if I don’t always feel that great about certain things. Self-encouragement is a choice we make. What kind of day will we choose to have? Are we going to let anyone take our power? Will we make the decision to triumph over all that ails us? The decision is ours and we can’t hold anybody else responsible.  Today I’ll tell you what works for me. First off,

Soar! Part 1 (weekly podcast episode #24)

Weekly podcast. Follow along with blog post. Today starts the day of my book study of TD Jake's book,  Soar!:  Build Your Vision from the Ground Up. Jake's book is a book for entrepreneurs or for those of us who want to take life to the next level. It's for those of us who want more.   Part one in Soar! begins with Proverbs 13 :12, which says, "hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." That verse is obvious, isn't it? How many of us have been hoping and dreaming for so long now, that what we always wanted to achieve is a distant memory? It's time to Soar! It's time to move . On page 15 Jakes says people are always asking him how he does all the things he does. What he says, is that it's the way he's always been, because his parents and grandparents had the entrepreneurial spirit. It was in his DNA. His father had a "combination of boundless energy, desperate motivation, and relentless det

Encourage yourself everyday

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Today I've come to encourage you to stay encouraged even if you have to encourage yourself. Sometimes we may have to dig deep to find that encouragement, but we must make that a priority. We can't expect others to encourage us all the time, because although some people mean well, some are nevertheless...up today and down tomorrow; wish-washy people are here today and gone tomorrow. All of that means we can't depend on people 24/7, because we all fall short, right? That's people, because we're all human. Yet, we can't let any of that get us down. We have to stay encouraged and continue on despite it all.  Thankfully, we can rely on God throughout it all, because He is the greatest encourager of them all. And He will give us what we need to get that push of invigoration and inspiration. I thank God He is a loving God, and we know what we're getting with Him everyday. He never changes.  Hebrew

Comfort comfort, my people

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God" ( Isaiah 40 :1). Did you know, God "gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" (Isaiah 40:29) ? Oh yes, and if he does that, that means there is no reason to be down or to stay down. Lift your head up. Yes, there are things going on that are challenging and it may seem like God is not there, it may seem like He doesn't hear us or see us. But let me tell you, God is aware of our needs, all of them and when it seems we're on the brink of shouting, "Lord help me!", He is right there. He was there all along. He won't ever leave the people who love, praise, and worship Him in spirit and truth. Every last one of His promises will come true when we continue to seek Him in all our ways and as we continue to understand and respect that He is God yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Believe that. God is there to support us and He's there for us to support others. Considering that, we must

Walking blameless with God

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know, when we're walking with the Lord, we're walking blameless?  "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones" ( Proverbs 2 :6-8)  Yes, it's about trusting in the Lord with all our heart. It's when we live our lives according to His mandates, that we know who our Redeemer is. It's when we don't care what anyone says, we will walk in the ways of the Lord. And where we land is where we land, because we know He will lead us to higher waters. Our ordered foot steps will be flawless, because they come from God. Does it mean we will have a perfect walk? No. Does it mean we will do everything right? No. Does it mean nothing will ever go wrong? No. It just means, we are good to go spiritu

Consistency

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. I often hear, over and over again, that consistency is the key to achieving great things. I totally agree. Consistency is everything and if we will just stay the course, victory and success are imminent, which means our breakthrough is coming.  Consistency is important. That's just the truth of the matter. It's important and crucial to going to the next level and even though we may fall short sometimes or even hit a foul, we have to continue to swing at the ball. We can't just stand there and watch it go right past us. We have to get in the game. We have to keep doing the things that will get us from A to Z and we have to do them on purpose  with  purpose. None of us is perfect and we may get things wrong at any given time, yet when we're on the right track, then getting to where we're going, will eventually happen. You ever watch a super athlete? They don't quit, do they? Even if they lose, t

It can still happen for you

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post Do you know miracles and extraordinary things happen everyday? So, why can't we experience such things, right? Aren't we children of the Most High? Than there you have it. It can still happen for you. It can still happen for us. If miracles and extraordinary things have to happen to someone, why can't that someone be you? Have you ever thought about that? I'll say again -- with God all things are possible ( Matthew 19:26 ). That means if we want something that has lived in our heart, it doesn't matter how long it's lived there, it can still happen for us. So don't give up on your dream and the vision God has for you.  It doesn't matter how long you've been waiting for something, if it lives in your heart, keep praying and keep preparing for it. We can't get everything we want when we want it, so as long as you desire it, it will come when it's supposed to. Let's keep w

It is possible

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Are you waiting on the Lord to do anything in your life? If you are, don't give up, because God is still working on your behalf. And if you believe great things can happen for you, then they can indeed. It's all about believe, remember?  Whatever you want God to do in your life, you have to believe it can happen for you. In  Matthew 19 :26, " Jesus looked at them [the disciples] and said,  “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  When we're willing to give God a chance, He will give us a chance -- many chances. He will give us abundant opportunities. He will open doors that no man can shut. He will place us before great kings. There will be nothing He wouldn't do for us. Unfortunately, many times we limit what He's willing and able to do for us by not having mustard seed faith. That's all it takes to put our trust in Him and to believe that what we desire will c

Carry the Word

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. What is your go-to resource for wisdom? Do you know there's a book that will give you all you will ever need and when you carry it in your heart? Do you know there's a book that will give you the power to overcome anything in your life? And I mean anything . Oh yes, it's true.   It's called the bible and  Joshua 1 :8 says,   "this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."  That's what the Lord told Joshua when God wanted Joshua, the new leader of the Israelites, to know what Joshua was about to take on. God told Joshua that success was imminent wherever he went. And guess what? We can be as blessed as Joshua too.  Is there anything you need to overcome today? Is there a mountain in front of you t

Keep your power

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Do you believe and pray for what God has for you? If so, there's power in that. In   Mark 11 :24 Jesus said, "therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Believe. Pray. Power. Let's talk about power, which according to Google, means: "the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality" and "the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events." Now, put God in that and you are an absolute powerhouse! And people see it all over you. Remember, in the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48 when Jesus told her, her faith had made her well? Well, that's the deal with you too -- your faith has made you well -- whatever well means for you. Faith can make anyone well. So continue on with the power the Lord has given you

New creations

This is Sha Sha, my avatar, so her face is based on my face. F ollow along with blog post below. Since 2 Corinthians 5 :17 says that if anyone is in Christ, he or she is a new creation, then that means we may have some old things we need to get rid of, right? Some of those things may be in the form of people and some may in the form of things. Perhaps they are in our way, because they were supposed to be long gone at this point. If we are asking ourselves why certain things and certain people are still in our lives or what good purpose they serve, then we may have some deleting to do. And it's ok, because seasons change and this may be a good time to do some intense Spring cleaning. Out with the old and in with the new and blossoming things. In with the new fresh aroma of beautiful flowers and   out with all the old withered ones that serve no purpose whatsoever. It may be a great time to make that happen if in fact we are the new creations in Christ we are.

God’s grace

Ephesians 2 :8-10 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do ."  Isn’t it great to be covered by God’s grace? We all make mistakes. We all fall short. The only perfect one is Christ, so, we have to stop thinking we’re perfect and forgive ourselves when we mess up. We can't be so hard on ourselves. I’m saying that because I know how it is to live in regret over mistakes and bad decisions. I wasted years not moving on in a certain area of my life, because I beat myself up about certain things. Don’t let that be you. Move on and move up. God knows we’re human and He’s already forgiven us for what we did, what we're doing, and for what we will do. Yes, He’s that smart, that’s why He's the one and only true God. He’s got you covered on

Speak things as if they were

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you have the power to speak things into existence? Do you know you have the power to change your atmosphere? Oh yes, so speak life to your life and know that the Lord's Word never comes back void. It is always alive and active. It's never too late to start speaking over your life. In   Mark 11 :24 Jesus says, "therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours"  and   Proverbs 23 :7 says, "for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  Those verses are proof that when something lives in our heart, all we have to do is open our mouths and speak those things as if we already had them. It's amazing how much power we really have, but we throw it away, because of our lack of faith. I've done that for years and let me tell you, it's not happening anymore. I'm not giving no thing, no one, and no place another inch of m
