Double for your "trouble"

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.

Did you know God has alot for you? Do you? Are you familiar with the scripture that talks about God giving you back double for your trouble? That means He's giving you back everything you lost for all the hell you've been through.

I have good news for you. Isaiah 61:7 says, "Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." What fabulous news that is -- that God will give you everything back you've lost, plus a whole lot more. That's right, all the hell you've been through, God will give you blessings that far exceed your pain. Then you will be able to tell the world what He did for you and others will believe your testimony of His goodness. Then they will believe God. They will know He is real. Then He will do it for them when they follow the steps of obedience you followed. All because of your diligence in standing firm in your faith. Yes yes you've earned your wings. You've stood the course and you never waved the white towel.

I've been through some much and there's no doubt about the fact that the Lord is going to come through. And I absolutely stand on Isaiah 61:7 and I'm waiting patiently for the Lord to come through for me. How about you? It's time to get all He has for us, so let's stay faithful to what He's going to do in our lives, which is much.

I feel free

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How are you feeling today? What kind of head space have you been in lately? I ask, because I'm just wondering if anybody feels like me -- free like me. Free as an eagle. Free as can be. That's right, out with doing business the old stale way and in with a fresh new operation. It's a shifting happening in the atmosphere of Sharon's life and I'm moving on to the big and awesome things God has for me. What  do you say for yourself? What are you speaking over your life? What it is for you?
For me, I am no longer afraid to go out in the deep end. I am no longer afraid to fly higher, I am no longer concerned about what I have or do not have, and I am no longer concerned about what anybody thinks or says. Who the heck cares anymore? I don't. Because God tells me he doesn't give me a spirit of fear or timidity (2 Timothy 1:7), but He gives me a spirit of love, confidence, power, self-control, and joy. And I…

Encourage yourself in God

Do you know that no matter what you may be going through, you can encourage yourself in the Lord? And the Lord will give you the strength and power you need in order to get through? Yes, He will do it. He did it for David when David probably found it difficult to understand how he would endure. But, guess what? God was with him and God blessed him too. There are so many things I love about David. One of those things is that he encouraged himself in the Lord beyond the challenging circumstances he found himself in (1 Samuel 30:6).
When it seemed all was lost, David didn't give up. When everyone turned their backs on him, he stayed with his vision. When his family and community were taken, he went forth with what God told him to do. David never left the Lord in spite of his circumstances. I love that he did the opposite of what some of us would do, he stayed with God, he didn't run away from God. And he didn't try to take matters into his own hands. He ran towards the order…

When you follow the light

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
I just want to encourage you to keep looking up, keep following the light, and to keep the plans God has for your life, front and centered. Continue to look up towards heaven no matter what you're going through. If you're not going through anything, then that's good, just continue to ensure your gaze is still on the Lord. No matter where we are in life we have to keep God as the center of our lives and not get too busy for the He, the Father. We must remember that what He did for us and the blood He shed for each one of us to be here today is something to be worthy, something to be praised, and something to appreciate and be grateful for.
Looking up ensures we are looking towards the light, because Jesus is the Light and He sits on high. That's a fact, so…
