You are beautiful

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.

"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well" (Psalm 139:14). You know what that means? That means that you are beautiful. Yes, some synonyms for beautiful are wonderful, pleasing, marvelous, splendid, graceful, gorgeous, and exquisite. How awesome is that? It's awesome. Look at how majestic the Lord is, having made someone like you. So, don't let anybody convince you that you are not beautiful and that you are not wonderful in the eyes of the Lord, because you are. And if He sees you that way, then that's the ultimate in acceptance, so why would anybody think that is irrelevant? We must see ourselves how God sees us and when we do that we are unstoppable and unbreakable in doing any of the things He called us to do. When we see ourselves the way God sees us, what anybody tries to do or say against us, has no ounce of power. None.

So, walk in your beauty. Walk in your wonder. And walk in the strength the Lord has given you.  Praise Him, because you are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made by God. And that makes you beautiful in His eyes and since you're beautiful in His eyes, He will see to it that you are also beautiful in man's eyes. That's right, because God has the power to make that happen.

I feel free

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How are you feeling today? What kind of head space have you been in lately? I ask, because I'm just wondering if anybody feels like me -- free like me. Free as an eagle. Free as can be. That's right, out with doing business the old stale way and in with a fresh new operation. It's a shifting happening in the atmosphere of Sharon's life and I'm moving on to the big and awesome things God has for me. What  do you say for yourself? What are you speaking over your life? What it is for you?  For me, I am no longer afraid to go out in the deep end. I am no longer afraid to fly higher, I am no longer concerned about what I have or do not have, and I am no longer concerned about what anybody thinks or says. Who the heck cares anymore? I don't. Because God tells me he doesn't give me a spirit of fear or timidity ( 2 Timothy 1 :7) , but He gives me a spirit of love, confidence, power, self-control, and

Encourage yourself in God

Do you know that no matter what you may be going through, you can encourage yourself in the Lord? And the Lord will give you the strength and power you need in order to get through? Yes, He will do it. He did it for David when David probably found it difficult to understand how he would endure. But, guess what? God was with him and God blessed him too. There are so many things I love about David. One of those things is that he encouraged himself in the Lord beyond the challenging circumstances he found himself in ( 1 Samuel 30 :6). When it seemed all was lost, David didn't give up. When everyone turned their backs on him, he stayed with his vision. When his family and community were taken, he went forth with what God told him to do. David never left the Lord in spite of his circumstances. I love that he did the opposite of what some of us would do, he stayed with God, he didn't run away from God. And he didn't try to take matters into his own hands. He ran towards th

Jesus gives mercy

"Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road." Isn't that another great testimony about God's mercy? That story comes from  Mark 10:46-52  and it's encouraging for a number of reasons. Namely, that Jesus had mer
