Going higher in what the Lord wants us to do, is a little scary, isn't it? I mean, it's going in uncharted territory and unknown lands, right? That's what Abram (later, Abraham) had to do in Genesis 12:1 and I can only imagine how that must have felt for him. Yet anything worthwhile won't come easy. It's going to cost each one of us something. Are you willing to give what it takes to go higher? It's a question all of us have to answer at some point.
The Lord told Abram: “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you" (Genesis 12:2/3).
Abram decided to heed the call and it paid off for him. The Lord told him what He would do for him and of course, the Lord came through. He always does. Abraham goes down in history as being a man of faith, the father of many nations, and apparently, many descendants. You and I being one of them if we belong in the kingdom of God. One of the morals of the story is that as long as we trust God and where He's taking us, we'll be just fine, because He never fails us. Never. Psalm 37:5 says "commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun." That's how we achieve the great things God has for us. We have to keep going higher even if it means stepping into unfamiliar territory. God will be with us, so we will be just fine.
