Heaven's keys will give you authority

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.

Do you know, Jesus will give us the keys to the kingdom of heaven? If we let Him, that is. Do you want to be used by Jesus to do great works? Do you want to tap into all He has for you? It’s the choice we all have to make at some point. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus said, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."

That's what Jesus told Peter regarding the power Jesus had given him and how he could continue Christ’s work on earth in preaching the gospel and declaring God's will to men. He also wanted to armed with the same authority He had. That didn't mean take the place of Jesus. There's only one Jesus. It meant walk in authority, leadership, confidence, and the power to draw all men (people) to the Lord. Today nothing has changed. We have that same authority. We can use our life to help others see Christ. We don't have to have an official title of apostle, minister, or pastor, we can all do our part in sharing Jesus with people. We are all valuable and we have great things, great gifts, great talents the Lord has given us. We can use those in order for people to see Jesus for themselves. It's one of the main reasons we are in the kingdom of God, right? So, let your light shine so others will see and don't minimize the blessing you are to people. You are blessed to be a blessing.

God blesses whomever he wants to bless, whenever he wants to bless them

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. When I was going through a dark time -- when I had nothing -- there was a certain person who helped me sometimes. She helped me whenever she basically felt like it, but she did help, and for that I'm appreciative. But, something interesting happened after I started growing out of my despair. Something interesting started happening when I no longer needed her for anything. And something interesting happened even though I remained kind and grateful towards. The interesting thing that happened was that she started hating on me. She started treating me differently. At first I was really bothered by it, because I thought she and her husband were nice people I wanted in my life. I liked that they had a sense of compassion and were interested in helping people who were down and low. That really appealed to me, because I was raised that way; my mother was raised that way; her mother was raised that way, and it goes back to as fa

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. Speak things as if they were

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you have the power to speak things into existence? Do you know you have the power to change your atmosphere? Oh yes, so speak life to your life and know that the Lord's Word never comes back void. It is always alive and active. It's never too late to start speaking over your life. In   Mark 11 :24 Jesus says, "therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours"  and   Proverbs 23 :7 says, "for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  Those verses are proof that when something lives in our heart, all we have to do is open our mouths and speak those things as if we already had them. It's amazing how much power we really have, but we throw it away, because of our lack of faith. I've done that for years and let me tell you, it's not happening anymore. I'm not giving no thing, no one, and no place another inch of m
