Strive

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.
According to Merriam-Webster, strive means to “devote serious effort or energy (endeavor)” or “to struggle in opposition” (contend).

No matter what, we must continue to strive for the great things God has for us. It doesn't matter how challenging things get, we have to continue on. I know the grind gets discouraging sometimes, because we work so hard and it seems our time will never come, but it will. God will bless us with everything we want. Just keep in mind though, that God's everything is different from our everything, yet His everything is magnificent.

Galatians 6:9 says, 'we must not get weary or tired of doing things to the best of our ability.' When we work smart, more joy will come. It's a promise of God, but we have to push through and know better days and more opportunities are coming. I will always believe that. I just know God has more for me, for you, for us. Even when I get impatient, my faith kicks in, and I’m grounded again. Then I'm reminded of the favor, grace, and mercy of God on my life. I'm reminded that He will do what He said He would. In Jeremiah 29:11 God says I know the plans He has for my life, which are plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Yes, He's talking to me. Is He talking to you? You have to believe that He is, because that obviously goes for you as well, but you can't doubt. Don't let what happened or didn't happen in your life stop or hold up your faith. Stay with God, because He never changes, and He will come through for you. Strive. It's just a matter of time before you go to the next level in what God has for you. Stay with it.

I feel free

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How are you feeling today? What kind of head space have you been in lately? I ask, because I'm just wondering if anybody feels like me -- free like me. Free as an eagle. Free as can be. That's right, out with doing business the old stale way and in with a fresh new operation. It's a shifting happening in the atmosphere of Sharon's life and I'm moving on to the big and awesome things God has for me. What  do you say for yourself? What are you speaking over your life? What it is for you?  For me, I am no longer afraid to go out in the deep end. I am no longer afraid to fly higher, I am no longer concerned about what I have or do not have, and I am no longer concerned about what anybody thinks or says. Who the heck cares anymore? I don't. Because God tells me he doesn't give me a spirit of fear or timidity ( 2 Timothy 1 :7) , but He gives me a spirit of love, confidence, power, self-control, and

God blesses whomever he wants to bless, whenever he wants to bless them

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. When I was going through a dark time -- when I had nothing -- there was a certain person who helped me sometimes. She helped me whenever she basically felt like it, but she did help, and for that I'm appreciative. But, something interesting happened after I started growing out of my despair. Something interesting started happening when I no longer needed her for anything. And something interesting happened even though I remained kind and grateful towards. The interesting thing that happened was that she started hating on me. She started treating me differently. At first I was really bothered by it, because I thought she and her husband were nice people I wanted in my life. I liked that they had a sense of compassion and were interested in helping people who were down and low. That really appealed to me, because I was raised that way; my mother was raised that way; her mother was raised that way, and it goes back to as fa

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do.
