Do you know there's a book that will give you all you will ever need and when you carry it you will have power? Oh yes, it's true. It's called the bible and "this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success" (Joshua 1:8). That's what the Lord told Joshua after Moses died. God wanted Joshua (the new leader of the Israelites) to know that what Joshua was about to take on was a mighty feat and God would be with him all the days of his life. Let's focus on what He told Joshua regarding carrying God's word in him. He told Joshua that success was imminent wherever he went. As we know, the bible is the wisest book in the history of the world, so it was apparent Joshua was carrying around power and authority. And it was also apparent that Joshua would win against the battles awaiting him, like the battle of Jericho Ai, and Gibeon. Thus, the bible has so much wisdom in it that whoever takes advantage of it will be sharper. That's a clear fact. Hebrews 4:12 says, "the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." So wouldn't it be easy to understand why Joshua had success? Wouldn't it be easy to surmise that God was with him always? Well, the same is true for you and I. God has the same commandments for us and He will do for us, what He did for Joshua.
