No Interest

Jesus paid it all. He gave everything for us.

My pastor spoke a great message yesterday about Jesus dying on the cross for us. The following are my notes: 

When Jesus died, He paid the interest for us. In other words He paid for our value in full and didn't charge us anything. When we need peace, deliverance, joy, healing, resurrection power, or whatever it is, Jesus paid it in full and there is nothing we did to deserve it. There is also nothing more we can do to change that. Jesus gave it all, because He loves us. He died so we didn't have to. Isn't that great? Who else can we say that about? 

The scripture reference was John 19:30, which says, "when he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is  finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." That's what happened. If you want to get a free relationship with Him, Romans 10:9-11 says this:
"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
Jesus paid it all and didn't charge us any interest.

God is Real

I've often had conversations about how we know God is real, about how we know His spirit lives, about how we know we are spiritual beings in human form (not the other way around). The answers lie in the beginning starting with the living  spirit of God and how the world began. God is Real. He's a living breathing spirit, an organism.  God is love . I often wonder how it is that some people think the opposite though. That the world began with a bang, a big bang, a black hole, whatever else they want to call it. The question I always raise to such a "theory" is, how was love created? How was flesh, blood, bones, or our souls created? What I mean by soul is that part of us that perceives "silently" what we do, think, believe, feel, and our mind, our will, our intellect, our emotions.
