Love and Faithfulness

Proverbs 3:3/4 says, "let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man." Those are pretty cut and dry scriptures, aren't they? They're simply a reminder to walk in love, be faithful, hold them close to your heart, and God will ensure you're going to walk in the blessings of the Lord. It says it right there in verse 4. He will bless you and you'll be a walking-talking blessing vessel. And I'll go as far as saying those in your realm of influence will also be blessed. That's right, won't God do it? He most certainly will. Yet here's the thing: we have to continuously do our part. We have to be careful that we walk in love, faithfulness, and positiveness as often as possible. I'm not saying try to be perfect. None of us will ever be. What I am saying is that we have to at least try our best to do right by all people. And I believe the "try" in us will result in great things for ourselves and for the people we encounter. Would you agree? I don't know about you, but I want to be blessed to be an even bigger blessing to people.

God blesses whomever he wants to bless, whenever he wants to bless them

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. When I was going through a dark time -- when I had nothing -- there was a certain person who helped me sometimes. She helped me whenever she basically felt like it, but she did help, and for that I'm appreciative. But, something interesting happened after I started growing out of my despair. Something interesting started happening when I no longer needed her for anything. And something interesting happened even though I remained kind and grateful towards. The interesting thing that happened was that she started hating on me. She started treating me differently. At first I was really bothered by it, because I thought she and her husband were nice people I wanted in my life. I liked that they had a sense of compassion and were interested in helping people who were down and low. That really appealed to me, because I was raised that way; my mother was raised that way; her mother was raised that way, and it goes back to as fa

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. Eagles fly above the storm

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with Blog Post. Are you an eagle? Do you know, eagles fly above the storm and they wait for the winds to carry them to greater heights?  That's right, as the storm is raging below, they are soaring above it all. They don't escape the storm, mind you. They simply use the storm to lift themselves to higher magnitudes. It's a though they know the storm is temporary; that they will indeed rise above it; and that they are riding the storm. I find all of that fascinating, because we can take the model of the eagle and do the same. Why can't we? We can imitate the eagles intelligence, push-through, and perseverance to weather any storm -- the storms of life that will come. If we will just know that God will never give us more than we can handle, then we will come out victorious.  As you going through anything today? Are you worried about anything in particular? Just know, you can rise above it all. Nothing is too big for G
