Keep moving

Today I want to encourage you again, to keep moving forward and to keep going forward. The Lord God is with you and although we all have probably had that feeling when we wanted to give up, let me tell you that God has much in store for those who run their race. Oh yes, as long as we know that the race isn't for the swift, it's for the diligent, we will make it. Believe it.

So today in the name of encouragement I've come to tell you to be encouraged in the Lord, because God is with you and He's telling us the same thing He told Joshua in Joshua 1:6/7, which says, "Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go" and in Joshua 1:9 God said, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We have to be strong and we have to be encouraged. God hasn't left us and our testimony is important. Our story is for the people who will benefit from the lives we've led and the life we lead today. We have to keep moving and not be idle. Idle is when we are standing or sitting in a place of no movement and no momentum. We can't do that. We have get moving and continue moving even if we have to take baby steps. Do you know God is in baby steps? Yes, He orders our steps as long as we're moving towards Him.

So you see, you cannot give up. Things didn't come easy for Joshua in the bible and they won't always be easy for us, but we will make it through, so keep moving.

I feel free

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How are you feeling today? What kind of head space have you been in lately? I ask, because I'm just wondering if anybody feels like me -- free like me. Free as an eagle. Free as can be. That's right, out with doing business the old stale way and in with a fresh new operation. It's a shifting happening in the atmosphere of Sharon's life and I'm moving on to the big and awesome things God has for me. What  do you say for yourself? What are you speaking over your life? What it is for you?  For me, I am no longer afraid to go out in the deep end. I am no longer afraid to fly higher, I am no longer concerned about what I have or do not have, and I am no longer concerned about what anybody thinks or says. Who the heck cares anymore? I don't. Because God tells me he doesn't give me a spirit of fear or timidity ( 2 Timothy 1 :7) , but He gives me a spirit of love, confidence, power, self-control, and

Encourage yourself in God

Do you know that no matter what you may be going through, you can encourage yourself in the Lord? And the Lord will give you the strength and power you need in order to get through? Yes, He will do it. He did it for David when David probably found it difficult to understand how he would endure. But, guess what? God was with him and God blessed him too. There are so many things I love about David. One of those things is that he encouraged himself in the Lord beyond the challenging circumstances he found himself in ( 1 Samuel 30 :6). When it seemed all was lost, David didn't give up. When everyone turned their backs on him, he stayed with his vision. When his family and community were taken, he went forth with what God told him to do. David never left the Lord in spite of his circumstances. I love that he did the opposite of what some of us would do, he stayed with God, he didn't run away from God. And he didn't try to take matters into his own hands. He ran towards th

Jesus gives mercy

"Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road." Isn't that another great testimony about God's mercy? That story comes from  Mark 10:46-52  and it's encouraging for a number of reasons. Namely, that Jesus had mer
