"Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” Mordecai then went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him."
That story comes from Esther 4:13-17 and it was when Esther was the chosen one who married the king. But back then it was against the law to approach the king unless he summoned you and it didn't matter if it was his wife. Yet Esther realized that one of the key reasons she was put into place to marry the king was to be instrumental in saving her people -- the Jews -- against destruction. Esther listened to her cousin Mordecai who spoke into her life when he told her what the dire situation was. And that she couldn't get a big arrogant head as to why God blessed her.
The story ends well with Esther going in to the king and the king accepting her petition to help her people. He gave the Jews all they needed to fight against their enemies and Esther’s people won. Do you know it just may be part of God's plan that you are where you are, in order to help someone or to help a group of people? It just may be that God set you up for something greater than yourself for such a time as this, which is whatever particular time that is for you. Just something to think about.
