Positive Self-talk Class

I will begin teaching a class titled, Positive Self-talk, which coincides with my journal book, Positive Self-talk, a little journal book with BIG talk. My journal book is an easy-breezy read, it's very thin, only about 50 pages with large font, and has lots of space to write. It's a journal book of self reflection and goal-setting, which will lead to more positive thinking and help people make better choices.

My target population are high school and college-aged students, but is not limited to them. I will go into high schools, college campuses, churches, etc, to teach the curriculum. Positive Self-talk will get people to start thinking about the things God wants them to do (their purpose in life).

Since becoming a public school teacher years ago, I know there are too many students who do not know what they want to do. As a result they sometimes sabotage themselves based on negative information they've been told by some of the people around them. I want them to know it doesn't have to be that way. God has more for them.

Positive Self-talk will allow students to self-reflect by writing their inner thoughts and goals. It's a useful tool I have used since I was a little girl. I have achieved major milestones in my life as a result of positive self talk. What that has taught me, is how to navigate through life's challenges in order to do the things God wants me to do.

Am I done? Nope, I never will be. For, as one goal is achieved I'm always on the next great thing God wants me to create. In this case, the Positive Self-talk class.

I feel free

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How are you feeling today? What kind of head space have you been in lately? I ask, because I'm just wondering if anybody feels like me -- free like me. Free as an eagle. Free as can be. That's right, out with doing business the old stale way and in with a fresh new operation. It's a shifting happening in the atmosphere of Sharon's life and I'm moving on to the big and awesome things God has for me. What  do you say for yourself? What are you speaking over your life? What it is for you?  For me, I am no longer afraid to go out in the deep end. I am no longer afraid to fly higher, I am no longer concerned about what I have or do not have, and I am no longer concerned about what anybody thinks or says. Who the heck cares anymore? I don't. Because God tells me he doesn't give me a spirit of fear or timidity ( 2 Timothy 1 :7) , but He gives me a spirit of love, confidence, power, self-control, and

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. God blesses whomever he wants to bless, whenever he wants to bless them

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. When I was going through a dark time -- when I had nothing -- there was a certain person who helped me sometimes. She helped me whenever she basically felt like it, but she did help, and for that I'm appreciative. But, something interesting happened after I started growing out of my despair. Something interesting started happening when I no longer needed her for anything. And something interesting happened even though I remained kind and grateful towards. The interesting thing that happened was that she started hating on me. She started treating me differently. At first I was really bothered by it, because I thought she and her husband were nice people I wanted in my life. I liked that they had a sense of compassion and were interested in helping people who were down and low. That really appealed to me, because I was raised that way; my mother was raised that way; her mother was raised that way, and it goes back to as fa
