He loved us that much and not one of us is deserving of how much He bestows His love on us. Some of us  acknowledge Him and seek Him out and some never acknowledge Him. Yet He's full of goodness, grace, favor, and mercy. We just go about our day never seeking Him for guidance and direction over our lives. We think we have it all figured out. We're adults and nobody can tell us nothing. We're educated so we know what's best. We're wealthy so we don't need anybody, not even God.  Boy ole boy do we have it twisted.  We simply exist because God allows us to. We have what we have because He is a loving God. One of the fruits of the spirit is peace ( Galations 5:22/23 ). Peace is like the proverbial Sunday morning. No hustle and bustle. Just easy-breezy peace.  Peace can mean a whole bunch of things to different people. For me it means calmness, serenity, and tranquility. It's about having all of those things during chaos or when insanity is happening all around us. It's something that usually happens when a person is rooted and anchored in the Lord God ( see September 7th, 2016 blog post ). God gives us peace in the midst of a storm. If we will believe in Him and His ability to give us a peaceful strength when those pounding waves come, He will calm the seas for us if we need Him to. That's what Jesus did for His disciples when they didn't have enough faith that they could do it themselves. In other words, we always know Jesus has our back. Those are some of the words we say when we are surprised or shocked. "I can't believe it."  Those words sound familiar whenever God does something so amazing for us that we truly have a hard time fathoming it. I mean, we know His love for us is eternal, unlimited, and unconditional. Yet, we get besides ourselves when those things we always prayed for come true. We can't believe it. But here's the thing. We have to start believing it, because as we stay in tune with the will of God in our lives we will begin to see more and more of those blessings. They will be all over the place. Sometimes we can get so used to things going a certain way that we are shocked with things start turning in our favor. But I'm here to tell you that God is turning His face your way and He is going to watch you for awhile. Then wonderful things are going to start happening for you again and again. "Joy and pain, it's like sunshine and rain." Those are some of the lyrics of a 1980's love song by a group called Maze, Featuring Frankie Beverly . I used to looooove that song. Still do actually. That's when music was music and while it's great reminiscing for this quick moment, love songs are not what this blog post is about though. It's about life and how it has its ups and downs. Some of it is painful, but all of it can be joyful. How can that be? What that means is that we can be in a positive place even while we're going through hell. I'm not saying we won't experience pain, mourning, and sadness, I'm just saying we can be in a faithful peaceful place at the same time and the Lord will carry us through it. I know this, because that's exactly what I had to do when I felt pain for myself, my family, and other families due to pain that we were all hit hard with. By now everyone should know that God will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).   That is one of the many things to stand on when it comes to being rooted, grounded, and anchored in the Lord. It's a guarantee of a life filled with an overflowing of God's love.  To have that continuous overflow of our childlike love to our everlasting  God parent involves knowing that Jesus is the only way to God, the Father. That means that when we confess "Jesus is Lord," and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved" (Romans 10:9). If we want to live in eternal peace (not hell) then Jesus is the reason. It's about using our mouth (and our heart) and taking a chance to do something different for our lives. "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved (v 10). Going from lowly caterpillar  to beautiful butterfly. Just in case you think God won't chose you to do great and mighty things in the world, because you messed up, think again. Just in case you think God won't make you first when you were the very last, think again. Just in case you think God won't promote you because you're looked down upon by those who think they're higher than you, think again. Why would He do that for you? Because, "God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing, things that are" ( 1 Corinthians 1 :25-28). What that all means is that the people looked upon as foolish, weak, low, and despised are the very ones God likes to make an example of by blessing abundantly. Sometimes we think we need lots of people to help us fight our giants in order to go to the next level in what God has for us.  But don't you know God will weed out the people will think we need, to get His will done? And He will have us do an impossible feat with one or a few people when it should take many. That's what He did for Gideon ( Judges 6-7 ). Gideon was the 5th judge in the bible back when judges were God's chosen leaders in charge of the people (Israelites). Gideon was also a prophet and a mighty warrior. God chose him to lead the people in their fight against the Midianites. At first Gideon was doubtful that he should be the chosen one to lead the Israelites, but an angel of God told him he would be ok and the Lord would be with him. To make a longer story short, Gideon's army started with 32 thousand men and the Lord dwindled that number down to 300. 300.  To fight again a massive Midianite army.  Who were as vast as locusts.
