Stay close to God

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Sometimes when I think over all the challenges and the tough times life has thrown me, I can only think of how the Lord God kept and covered me. There's no doubt, He was there during the rough and tough times. I know, because I felt His presence and let me tell you that if He brought me through, He will bring you through. Yes, the Lord will bring you through. That's what those of us can say, who hear His voice. It's about being in tune with Him and keeping the lines of communication open. It's crucial to self-development. We want to stay near to Him in order to hear Him.  John 10 :27/28 says, " My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."  More power words of promise...

Double for your "trouble"

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Did you know God has alot for you? Do you? Are you familiar with the scripture that talks about God giving you back double for your trouble? That means He's giving you back everything you lost for all the hell you've been through.  I have good news for you.   Isaiah 61 :7 says, " Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." What fabulous news that is -- that God will give you everything back you've lost, plus a whole lot more. That's right, all the hell you've been through, God will give you blessings that far exceed your pain. Then you will be able to tell the world what He did for you and others will believe your testimony of His goodness. Then they will believe God. They will know He is real. Then He will do it for them whe...

Standing strong

The Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Most of us have heard about the palm tree, right? Did you know those trees bend, but they don't break? They have the amazing capacity to weather storms and are able to stand again after such a rough go at it. Their root system is wide and firm. Isn't that amazing? The palm tree is one of the most fascinating trees I've ever heard of. It's fascinating for many reasons, namely, its resiliency. Its bounce back. Its ability to literally weather the storms and come back stronger than ever. Do you know anybody like that? Could that somebody be you? Are you like the the palm tree that doesn't fall down...well not completely.  Another awesome thing about the Lord is that He gives us the ability to withstand the mighty storms of life. For those who may still be struggling in this area, take heart, the Lord is there and He wants to give strength to all of His people. Isaiah 40 :31 says,  "those w...

You’re going to make it

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Yes I believe you’re going to make it. You’re going to do what it is the Lord wants you to do. Yes, I’m putting that into the atmosphere, because words are powerful. Do you know there is no need to despise humble beginnings, because as we seek wisdom and continue to follow the Lord,  Matthew 20 :16  says, the last will be first, and the first will be last. Your time is coming and you're going to make it. So there is no need that worry about who seems to be doing what and comparing ourselves to anyone. Sometimes I know that’s easier said than done for us, but all we have to do is stay in our lane and what God has for us, is for us. I can say this now, but there was a time when I didn't quite believe it. I wasn’t strong in the Lord, because I didn’t always know who Sharon really was. I was achieving worldly success and worldy goals, but my faith life wasn’t strong. But that changed when I started reading God’...

Faith won

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Today I'm standing, because faith won, but there was a time when the lack of faith got the best of me, but not today, not anymore. I wallowed in my grief about certain events that happened or didn't happen in my life and my lack of faith about how God could and would change my life, was getting the best of me. Although I knew what God's word said, I had believed what the world said. I had let the devil have his way with me, so I walked around in a state of despair about what was, not what could be.  Remember in Genesis 19 :26 when the Lord told Lot's wife not to look back? Well, He's telling us the same thing today.  And I'm standing today to tell you to do better than I did. I've come to tell you to walk with your countenance -- your spiritual expression up, not down. Walk with the powerful spirit the Lord has placed in you, because 2 Timothy 1 :7/8 says  "For the Spirit God gave...

God helped me

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.  Do you know that if   we have faith as small as mustard seed, Jesus will work in our lives? Oh yes, it's true. Matthew 17 :20 says,  "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I remember a time when I didn't have faith and when I was believing what others had to say over my life instead of what God said. But that was then and this is now. I'm here to tell everyone that Jesus was there for me when nobody else was -- especially in the midnight hour when I laid my head on that pillow and I was all  alone in all my thoughts. My thoughts about regrets and worries about what I thought tomorrow would bring. But since I couldn't call on anyone else, I decided to call on the Lord. Who else can we call every night about our struggles and the issues we may be facing? I don...

God made a way

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Sometimes I just sit and marvel at how the Lord operates and what little I know about His capabilities. None of us truly knows how limitless He is. None of us really knows His true power. That's why He's God all by himself. Just in case you may be thinking that God won't make a way out of no way, think again. He can and will open the flood gates for what it is you want in your life. And He will part the Red Sea for you too. Oh yes He will. I remember a time when my nights were long and depressing. I felt alone, because I had been talked about and ridiculed by the very people I thought were in my corner, only to find out that I was the brunt of much negative dialogue. If that has ever happened to you, you know that's a bad place to be. Yet, God is awesome. With wise counsel and great people from my church I came to realize that there were people who were in my corner; there were people who would accept yo...
