"Dismantling the Public Pursuit": When Misfits Become Kings: Book Study Part 8

Follow along with blog post/transcript below. 'The kingdom of God is not about material gain, but about positioning ourselves to be servants. We must begin to dismantle worldly paradigms if we want to become fruitful as kings in the kingdom.' (Mark Casto, page 92). Sometimes we get it mixed up, don't we? We think gaining material things is success, but it isn't necessarily. I know people who are satisfied with a house they bought, a car they own, and a job that pays a decent amount of money, but a job they hate. And believe it or not, that's success to them. Crazy, right? Yet, how many of us are right there with them? How many of us have lives that are dictated by the tangible things we have? Or how much money we have in the bank? It doesn't matter how we feel inside and what we are doing to move the world, as long as we have the things people can see, then that's living an I-made-it-big life, right? No, not right. Wrong actually. We can't liv...

Insight from God

Where are your eyes looking?  Proverbs 4 :25 says, “l et your eyes look directly forward and your gaze be straight before you.” That scripture means to stay focused on continuously gaining wisdom and insight from God. It means looking towards  The Light  and not having anything to do with the darkness. It means to take the road of goodness. It doesn't mean we won't ever have problems. It just means we will walk with more power throughout our challenges when we walk in the light. We will be able to speak life to any situation.  Proverbs 4:10-12  says, 'the years of our lives will be many when we walk in the way of wisdom; that our steps will not be hampered and when we run we will not stumble.'  Walking in the light is about keeping our eyes gazed on the Lord; staying in tune with what He has to say; and relying on Him to help us walk with a straight gaze. Isn’t that awesome? God is great.

A new day

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Today is a new day. Let's not go another day or another year without speaking things as if they were, speaking the things you want into the atmosphere. There's power in that, I'm telling you. It's time to start saying, it's my time, That's right, it's your time to step into the realm of everything. Yes, it's your time to reach new heights of all the thing you have ever wanted to do.  Setbacks? Don't worry about those. Keep going anyway. Many times those are the things that will give our testimonies more teeth, more power, more leverage. We have to let disappointments be fuel to enable us to accomplish those things that we always wanted to do -- we always dreamed about. They make us stronger. Otherwise we just go through them for not. For no reason at all. But, God wants us to use our testimonies to help us, as well as, help other people to be better, stronger, and faster. Yes, plus God...

Everlasting joy

Do you know that everlasting joy is yours and it doesn't matter what your past is? And there will be honor for you if you do not grow weary and give up? It's true.   Isaiah 61 :7 "Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land and everlasting joy will be yours."  So I've come to encourage you to not let what happened or didn't happen in your past, stop your flow. I have to tell myself when I'm telling you, because I had to get to the point where I stopped dwelling on my past. You see, I don't won't the enemy to win. He has wreaked enough havoc in the lives of God's people and he shall harm no more. What I know is that God is still mighty and He's still on the throne. We have to go Him and as we continuously seek His face, everlasting joy will be ours in the way God will give it to us. Yes it will.

Power to speak

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you have the power to speak things into existence? Do you know you have the power to change your atmosphere? Oh yes, so speak life to your life and know that the Lord's Word never comes back void. It is always alive and active. It's never too late to start speaking over your life. In   Mark 11 :24 Jesus says, "therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours"  and   Proverbs 23 :7 says, "for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  Those verses are proof that when something lives in our heart all we have to do is open our mouths and speak those things as if we already had them. It's amazing how much power we really have, but we throw it away, because of our lack of faith. I've done that for years and let me tell you, it's not happening anymore. I'm not giving no thing, no one, and no place another inch of my po...

Joy and victory

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know you have joy and victory? Well, do you? Because, it's in you. It really is and it doesn't matter what's coming at you either, continue to know that you already have the joy and the victory.   Psalm  3  was David's prayer to the Lord when it seemed all was lost, when those who were the closest to him were trying to defeat him. But God --  ohhhhh God  -- was there when no one else was. God was there for David and David turned to Him when the chips were truly down. He was running for his life against his own son, as well as, others who absolutely hated him. Yet God helped him, God looked out for him, and God kept His promise to him. Listen, God  is  and  will  continue to do the same for you and He will do it for me. That's right. So don't you worry one bit. Just keep your eyes on Him and keep looking towards heaven. Don't you ever give up.  Psalm 3 :1-5  say...

The promise

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you know that what God promised you, is still there? Oh yes, it's still there. It's just that you can't see it in the natural. You can only see it with your spiritual eyes. You see, that's how faith works. It's the substance or confidence of things we hope for and the evidence, assurance, certainty, and proof of things not yet seen.  Hebrews 11 :1  is proof of that. So, when you start getting down about things that God promised you -- things that God has shown you in the spirit, but they haven't been manifested yet, know this: what you want to happen in your life will still happen. It will come to pass. It will show itself in your life. Yet, this is the thing though: it will only show itself if you do not give up and lose hope, because it's taking so long. So, we have to believe that what's on the other side is worth getting. And we have to be willing to go through all the things we ca...
