God is faithful

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. Do you have anything that has lived in your heart that you want to happen so bad you can taste it? Well, hold it close to you and don't let it die out. Even though things may not be happening as fast as you would like, don't abandon what lives it your heart. Keep it alive, because God is a faithful God and He's keeping that promise in your heart for a reason. Yes, and I too, have things in my heart that have been there for a very long time, but I refuse to give up simply because they haven't happened yet. I figure if I will just stay the course. If I will just stay with the things I'm doing to go towards it, it will manifest. In  Deuteronomy 7 :7-9,  God had a message for the Israelites and it went as follows:  "The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and...

Be the wise builder

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law." That’s Matthew 7 :24-29 . Pretty cut and dry scriptures, right? Build what you’re working on, on a solid foundation, on a rock. Better yet, build on the Rock , Jesus Christ. That way, when the storms of life come, your footing ...

God is watching over his saints

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints" ( Proverbs 2 :6-8). Isn't it great when we can tap into the things of God? When we can tap into the amazing things He has for us? I don’t know about you, but that excites me. It gives me what I need to push through and to stay in the race. Remember what Paul said in Ecclesiastes 9:11 right? The race isn’t for the swift. It's for those who stay the course, so don't give up. I know that's sometimes easier said than done -- I know that more than you think, because sometimes I find myself there, especially lately. Yet, I will not give up. I'm going to blog, podcast, write, speak, and do whatever else the Lord tells me to do. Do I get tired sometimes? Yes, of course, but that won't stop me, because I know the gifts God ...

You can walk on the water too

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.  Later that night, he was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and ...

Do not fear

"...do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand ( Isaiah 41 :10).  Another amazing verse about God's strength and help for us. Today I'm coming to you to tell you, to not fear  anything. Whatever is on your mind or weighing heavily on you, let go and let God. Release it to Him. Give it to Him for good, because He will carry our burdens for us. Yes, He is God and He will do anything at anytime for us.  Believe  that. He will make a way out of no way. He is the most powerful spirit in the universe and our problems, issues, and circumstances are small to Him. In other words, He knows what we're going through and He cares about what we're going through, but they're not too big for Him to cover us, to help us, and to strengthen us. He's got us covered in the city  and  in the field. He's got this. He says,  "For I am the Lord your God who ...

I’m staying with God

Romans 12 :2 says,  "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."  It's about staying focused on God. It's easy for us to get distracted by so many things, but we must use as much discipline as possible in order to meditate (reflect, ponder, think) on the things of the Lord. For those of you on the right road, stay on it and don't veer off from the positive road you're on. That's exactly what the enemy wants us to do, but don't get sidetracked, stay focused. It doesn't matter what comes against you, God has your back. Focus is the key though. Focus is the key to transforming our minds and continuously renewing it by reading God's word and keeping an on-going relationship with Him. You know what that means? It just means seeking His face  (Matthew 6:33)  and talking to Him about absolutely anyth...

Jesus will calm your storm

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Well everybody, apparently it was Jesus. That's who He was. And  Mark 4:35-41 , is another great reminder that Jesus will give us peace in the midst of a storm when we cal...
