A new life

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. "Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also hi...

Picture it

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. How much do you visualize where you want God to take you? How often do you see yourself going to big places? Doing big things? Talking to the people you never imagined you'd talk to? Sitting next to people you always admired from afar? What do you imagine for yourself? What do you dream about? What has eluded you, because you didn't think you were worthy of it? If any of those answers are the answers that have stopped your flow, I've come to tell you that it's a new day and your vision is coming to fruition. Oh yes and I don't want anyone else telling themselves what I used to, which was, 'God this is just too big and it's going to take much work' and end up doing nothing like I did. I just sat around and laid around. I thought others had more of that  something  special that I didn't have. While in essence they had what they had and I had what I had -- our own gifts. What I've come...

In you Lord, I take refuge

Remember who you are in the Lord, because He remembers who you are to Him. When you remember who you are in Christ, you can get through anything at anytime. Do you know who you are? Really are? Do you know to where your real strength lies? God is for you ok? He’s wants you too win, to get the victory. So you’re safe with with Him. David knew that and in  Psalm 71 :1-3 He said , “In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me. Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.” Isn’t it great how much God is available for His people? Isn’t it great that we can refuge and comfort in the Lord God? We should embrace that as we go about our days. And as we ponder and meditate on that fact — that God is always there for us. That’s truly good news.

Walk in your anointing

Be yourself. Walk to the beat of your  own  drum. Walk in the anointing (special godly purpose) the Lord God gave you. There's too much in life to deal with so why not just stay in our lane and do whatever it is God wants us to do? When we do that we're much happier and definitely much more effective. It's about doing what we were born to do.  "He  anointed us,   set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come ( 2 Corinthians 1 :22). For much of my life I didn't operate fully in my gifts, but today is a different day. I'm no longer holding back. I'm no longer concerned about what anybody says. None of that means a thing to me anymore. I figure if time is going to pass anyway, I may as well do what God told me to do. I may as well walk in my gifts and my anointing. The same is the case with you. Don't let anybody hold you back. Seek the Lord and follow the paths He's given you. He wi...

Giants fall

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”  As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground ( 1 Samuel 17 :45-49). Wowwwwww, what a stor...

Seeking higher, going higer

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post. That's what Abram, later called Abraham had to do in  Genesis 12 :1 -- s eeking higher, going higher, and and I can only imagine how that must have felt for him. Yet, anything worthwhile won't come easy. It's going to cost each one of us  something . Are you willing to give what it takes to go higher? It's a question all of us have to answer at some point. The Lord told Abram:  “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you" (Genesis 12:2/3).     Abram decided to heed the call and it paid off for him. The Lord told him what He would do for him and of course, the Lord came through. He always does. Abraham goes down in history as being a man of faith, the father of many nations, and apparently, many desce...

The new you

2 Corinthians 5 :17  says,  "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."  You can walk in confidence in knowing that, because it's about knowing who you are, what makes your tick, and what drives you. Do you know who you are? When we know who we  really  are, then we know who we are in Christ. We no longer look back at who we used to be, we look at who we are now and who we are becoming. We focus on the new creations, not on what's old and passed away. When you know yourself you don't have to convince others to like you, to love you, or beg anybody to do anything for you or with you. I'm not saying we don't need people, because we all need people. I'm just saying that when we know who we are, we know how to operate from a loving, godly, peaceful, and strong place of confidence and we don't need anybody's approval. No bragging, no boasting, no arrogance, and no pride. It's just a qui...
